In the 2014 Alaska Gubernatorial Election, independent-endorsed Republican Alaska’s former Lt. Gov. Bill Walker received 48.10% of the vote, while incumbent Republican-nominee Sean Parnell got 45.42%. Walker’s margin of about 2.68 percentage points showed a surprisingly tight and competitive race in Alaska.
